Everyone is different, with different experiences and lives. Your training should reflect what you already know. There are no required minimum hours that you need to train for your CDL. Most schools count observation time in their 160 hour programs and have multiple students in the cabs. This means that the time you actually spend training is quite a bit less.
Be cautious of “one-day only” training providers. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Our training is proficiency based, not time based, as outlined by the FMCSA:
“There is no required minimum number of instruction hours for theory training, but the training instructor must cover all topics set forth in the curriculum. There is no required minimum number of instruction hours for BTW (range and public road) training, but the training instructor must cover all topics set forth in the BTW curriculum.”
